Happy Birthday MIJARC!
Date: 05.12.2014
MIJARC has celebrated its 60th anniversary on the past 16th of October (yes, the World Food Day!). You could say by its age that it is no longer a young movement, but MIJARC is ran by young people and for young people, and therefore it is a 60 year-old with a very youthful mind.
It is true that our societies have changed considerably in these 60 years, but the topics that MIJARC focus its work on, unfortunately haven’t been seeing great positive changes in this large period of time. Consequently, MIJARC is still today an indispensible civil society organization that struggles for the empowerment of rural young people, food sovereignty, social justice, sustainable rural development, peace and respect for Human Rights.
We wish much success and many more years to come continuing to support rural young people around the world.
An official celebration took place during the Extraordinary General Assembly in Lusaka, Zambia, with a cake, gifts and some deep reflection about the meaning of MIJARC.
And as MIJARC is made of each and everyone of us who have been contributing for its work and development in a way or another, every year: congratulations and thank you all for making MIJARC history! Here is your gift: MIJARC
